Answers to Some Frequently Asked Questions
CAN YOUR PRODUCTS BE LEFT IN THE POND WHEN IT FREEZES OVER?
Yes. Lightscapes products are built using high quality materials and can be left in the pond the entire year. However, for maximum product life, we recommend taking your pond product out of the water for the winter. If you live in an area that is prone to freezing multiple times a rear, we strongly recommend removing the product during the winter.
How long will the flag last?
This depends on how strong the winds are in your area. In the strongest wind conditions, the flag will typically last one year. However, in most cases it will last for two to three years before needing replaced.
How long will the solar lights last?
Our solar lighting manufacturer says three to five years, at which time they can be easily replaced.
What is the best way to install the product?
The recommended way to install our pond products is to take a boat, canoe, kayak or any floatation device out in the water to where you want to place it. For detailed instructions, please click on the "Instructions" tab on this website and choose the manual for the product you have.
How long do the solar lights stay on at night?
This depends on the amount of sunshine the lights received during the day. Generally, if the lights get a lot of sun during the day, they will last up to 8-14 hours depending on the model.
will you be offering different flags for the Illumination Station?
In the future we hope to add more flags to our collection as they become available. We would like to eventually add college and professional sports teams, and other specialty flags.
DO lIGHTSCAPES PRODUCTS NEED TO BE SERVICED?
We recommend periodically taking your floating product out of the water to clean the item with mild soapy water and to replace the tether line once a year. NOTE: While Lightscapes Products are weather resistant, we do not recommend submerging the light fixtures when cleaning.
CaN LIGHTSCAPES PRODUCTS TIP OVER ON THE WATER?
Yes, it is possible. The center attach point is tested to 30 MPH winds and the outer attach point is rated to 50+ MPH winds. We strongly recommend attaching at the outer attach point. Other factors can periodically come in to play such as wildlife. If the item is in a pond or lake and a large critter happens to jump onto the platform, it can tip over. This is a rare occasion, but it can happen. Lightscapes mechanically attaches all items onto our base so that you should not lose a part in the event of a tip-over.
